Kate Upton & Justin Verlander’s Tuscan wedding actually looked really classy

Much like Serena Williams, Kate Upton gave her wedding photos to Vogue Magazine rather than A) giving them away for free on social media or B) selling them to a weekly magazine. I’m fine with celebrities giving their wedding photos to Vogue – it’s their way of ensuring that they get to choose the photos and the narrative, and I would imagine that the Vogue photos will last a lifetime. Plus, the photos are just lovely. I wouldn’t have guessed that Kate Upton and Justin Verlander’s wedding would be so classy and just sort of low-key lovely, but there you go. It was beautiful. You can see the full Vogue feature and slideshow here.

Kate and Justin decided to have their wedding in Tuscany, and scheduled it for the first weekend in November. The problem? The first week of November, Justin was playing the final games of the World Series with the Houston Astros. Kate was in the stands for all of the games, and so the wedding festivities were just going on without the bride or the groom. Finally, Kate and Justin flew to Italy at the last minute for their wedding. They married at the Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco resort. Under Armour – one of Justin’s sponsors – provided special jerseys for the wedding guests. The bride wore Valentino gowns for all of two of her wedding festivities – a red Valentino for the rehearsal dinner, and a customized lace wedding gown which looked delicate and pretty. Kate’s grandmother let her borrow a sapphire ring, which became Kate’s something borrowed, something blue and something old. For the wedding reception, Kate wore a custom gown from Christy Rilling Studio.

Justin and Kate both posted Instagram slideshows with the photos:
