Jeremy James Siegel was born on November 14, 1945. He is the Russell E. Plamer Professor of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School in Philadelphia.

Siegel has a lot to say about the economy and financial markets. He appears on CNN, CNBC and NPR on a regular basis, and writes pieces for Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and Yahoo Finance.

The Paradox of Siegel is named after him. Siegel was up in Highland Park, Illinois and attended Highland Park High School.

He earned a PhD from MIT in 1971 majoring in mathematics and economics as an undergraduate at Columbia University.

He studied at MIT under Noble Laureates Paul Samuelson and Robert Solow.
