Taylor Swift tops the chart with All's Fair In Love and Poetry video - but there's no noise
Just when we thought Taylor Swiftâs influence couldnât get any bigger, she reached the number 1 spot for her âsongâ, Allâs fair in love and poetry which has absolutely no noise, yet. And itâs only eight seconds.
The music star announced her new album, The Tortured Poets Department during this yearâs Grammy Awards, set to be released on 19 April. However, a so-called segment of Taylor Swiftâs highly anticipated album has already topped the iTunes music video chart.
Swift tops iTunes music video chart without saying a word
The Cruel Summer singer knows how to keep her fans on edge, as she released an eight-second video with no sound, hinting at the vibe of the upcoming album.
Although the description was released in February, the power of the Swifites meant they still made it rise to the top spot.
The backdrop features an image of the singer, who is dating Travis Kelce, lying on some pillows, as the words above read: âAnd so I enter into evidence/ My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch-black ink / Allâs fair in love and poetryâŚ/ Sincerely, the Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department.â
Fans suspect the album will be about her long-term ex, Joe Alwyn. The pair dated for six years, before calling it quits in early 2023. Last month on her Eras Tour, the star hinted she felt âlonelyâ during quarantine, while she was living with her movie star ex.
As the news of Tayâs chart-topper with no noise spreads around the internet, Swiftieâs canât help but comment on how proud they are via X, formerly known as Twitter.
âHer impact is insane!!â exclaimed one.
âMost influential artist on earth,â said another.
Allâs Fair In Love and Poetry isnât the first time for Taylor Swift
In 2014, the singer topped the iTunes Canada chart, once again, with static noise. A song titled âTrack 3â was released in the morning of October 22, just a week before her album 1989 was set to drop.
Back in those days, a number of fans spent $1.29 to download the track but were left with nothing but silence. The listing was thought to be a glitch in Canadian iTunes at the time.
Tayâs album, 1989 went on to spend 11 weeks at the top of Billboard 200 and was certified nine times platinum. Itâs now sold more than 14 million copies online and remains her highest-selling album to date.
