During a 2008 Open Champion, he recorded a record-breaking second round. In September of 2008, he won his first PGA Tour title as well as the BMW Championship. Afterward, he again won The Tour Championship by defeating Sergio Garcia and was placed 7th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Villegas won his third PGA Tour in March 2010, defeating The Honda Classic by five strokes over Anthony Kim. In the year 2014, he earned the Wyndham Championship title, which got him 37th place in the 2014 FedEx Cup.
To focus on the PGA tour, he withdrew his name from the Olympics in Rio in July 2016. Unfortunately, Camilo could not win back his Tour Card.
