Are Mal and Yoly still together? (June 2023 update)

The Ultimatum: Queer Love season finale and reunion are now on Netflix, and a lot of dramatic, jaw-dropping moments happened in the final two episodes. Several of these moments came from Yoly Rojas and Mal Wright. The two had a complicated relationship after Yoly gave Mal the ultimatum, and then Yoly fell in love with her trial marriage partner Xander Boger.

Despite everything, Mal proposes to Yoly during the finale, and Yoly says yes to them, forcing her to break things off with Xander. But what happened after that? Keep reading to find out.

Even though Mal proposed to Yoly in The Ultimatum: Queer Love finale, it was revealed in the reunion that they had “happily” broken up. After Mal watched the show, she realized that Yoly had misrepresented her relationship with Xander and made Mal feel like a fool.

During the finale, Yoly repeatedly told Xander she loved them and waited until the last possible second to reveal she had said yes to Mal’s proposal. The whole thing came off as somewhat manipulative on Yoly’s part. At the reunion, tensions were high between Mal and Yoly, as Mal indicated that there was some duplicity from her ex. They broke up within a few weeks of the show ending.

Yoly and Xander did try things out after Mal and Yoly broke up but ultimately decided they were not the right fit for each other for now. Xander seems focused on herself for the time being.

No, Xander and Vanessa are not together. At the reunion, it seemed like everyone was single and still dealing with the end of their respective relationships. Even though they aren’t together, they still check in on each other occasionally.

Even though Mal and Lexi are not romantically involved, they are still incredibly close friends. Per Tudum, they’re basically family at this point and strongly value their friendship.

According to Tudum, Mal would prefer to “remain mysterious” for now. Specifically, she is “staying hydrated” and minding their own business. At the reunion, Mal said she and Yoly were like family who go through ups and downs. Even though they are not together, Mal still believes Yoly is a great person and is doing the best she can. For now, the exes are not on speaking terms.

For now, Yoly is busy taking care of herself. She tells Tudum that she’s been in relationships since she was 17 and wants to be “actively single” for a while.
